Beaumont Girls' School is actively involved in An Taisce's Green Schools Programme which is known internationally as the Eco-Schools Programme. We are very proud to have earned five separate green flags to date, for our work in the following areas:
- Litter & Waste- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Energy- Conserving Energy
- Water- Water Conservation
- Travel- Promoting Sustainable Transport Modes
- Biodiversity -Study of Native Plants, Animals and Habitats
Our Green School's Committee is made up of pupils representing 2nd class- 6th class along with three teacher representatives. Our school takes part in Walk on Wednesdays regularly (W.O.W days) where we make a huge effort to walk, park and stride or cycle/scoot to school. The class who has the most WOW participants every week wins the Golden Boot Award and is in a draw for a homework- off voucher. We endeavour to keep our school and grounds as tidy and litter-free as possible. We are currently beginning work for our sixth green flag which covers the theme of Global Citizenship-Litter & Waste.
Make sure to keep a close eye on this page for Green School Updates.
