We were delighted to welcome Gemma and Jing Yi from WIS (Women in Sport) and Table Tennis Ireland for a fabulous workshop with Sport Ireland called 'Her Moves Table Ping Pong Art'.
We took part in a brilliant workshop that combined the skills of art with the sport of table tennis.
We learned the basic skills of table tennis such as bat and balls skills, hand-eye co-ordination, reflexes, basic strokes and scoring, connecting music to sport and being creative by reflecting the sport of table tennis in art form.
For the art session we worked in groups, and used art to visualise the concept of mixing ‘Sport & Art’ and we designed a table tennis logo/symbol to reflect the 4 ‘F’s – Female, Fun, Friendship and Family in a social Table Tennis environment.
For the Creative PingPong session, we brought in objects that could be used as a bat, a ball and a net such as a placemat, a frying pan, a chopping board, a balloon, a tennis ball etc.
