There was a group of scientists spotted in Mr Wilson's class as the girls went to the Lifetime Lab for some experiments!
We were met by a very kind lady called Úna who introduced us to the concept of "Forces" and their many types. We began by making a self propelled car using magnets! It was like magic. We learned that magnets can attract and propel each other depending on which sides meet each other.
We then learned about the concept of levers and pulleys, and used lots of scientific language like "fulcrum" and "levers" and "pulley". We used the story of Oisin in Tír na Nóg to learn about how Oisín lifted a giant rock, but we didn't have his magical powers so we had to use the magic of science! We used a lever to lift a large rock and experimented were best suited to place our fulcrum.
It was a fantastic day!
