Mr Wilson's 5th Class GAA Skills

We had a wonderful Gaelic Football session this Friday when we practiced some drills and core skills for GAA.

We began our lesson with some fantastic athletic activities to warm up before we got into the football. We had some exhilarating races between teams, but we also put a spin on the concept by allowing an element of relay into the races, but giving the teams the freedom to separate their team's members along the route wherever they liked. There were some fantastic strategies implemented.

The girls ran "ar nós na gaoithe" (as fast as the wind), and we had great fun. 

Ava shared her vast knowledge of the sport and taught us some of the drills she knows well from training. She was a fantastic teacher and we learned so much! 

We practiced hand passing, soloing, and kicking, finishing up with a thrilling match. It was a great experience!
