Gardening and Interviewing the Gardening Ladies in Mr Wilson's 5th Class
10th Apr 2024
The girls in Mr Wilson's 5th class found their 'green thumbs' recently as we have been planting and monitoring the growth of many different plants in our classroom, and school garden. We planted coriander, cress, tomatoes, and spinach in our classroom and check their growth daily. We promise we never ever forget to water them!!
We are also so lucky to have extremely talented volunteers from the local community that help in our award winning school garden. We wanted to learn more about them so we interviewed them and created a 'Wall of Appreciation' for them in our school corridor. Their names are Kay, Berenice, Blanche, and Georgina. We had great fun out in our school garden seeing all the work they have done. They are superstars and we are so thankful for their time and effort to make our school garden as beautiful as it is.
We have also started working directly with the ladies every week. A different group of girls works with the ladies each week, and they are taught the magic and skills of gardening. They have planted tomatoes and potatoes, weeded flowerbeds, and cared for many of the variety of plants in our garden.
We're gone gardening mad!!
