4th Class were very busy this week, as Mr Wilson brought in his trusty bouzouki, and folk songs could be heard throughout the corridors!
4th class were learning about the tradition of folk songs, and folk tales, and how a song can be used to deliver a story. We looked at 2 songs in detail: The Lakes of Pontchartrain by Paul Brady, and The Coal Quay Market by Jimmy Crowley.
We learned about the historical significance of the songs, and had great fun singing them. It was hard to get the "killipolalla" bits right!!
