A Great Start to 2025 🥳
Since returning to school in January, senior infants have been busy with lots of exciting activities! The girls have been learning about rhyming words and practicing their sight words through a fun fishing game that we play every week. It’s a great way to reinforce their learning while having fun together.
We’ve also completed various winter-themed projects, like learning about polar bears and exploring The Arctic and Antarctica. The girls created beautiful art pieces featuring polar bears, fireworks, and warm fluffy mittens. During the snowy days in Ireland, they did some procedural writing about how to build a snowman, which was a great way to combine creativity with writing skills.
In PE, the girls focused on gymnastics, practicing lots of rolls and tumbles, which they really enjoyed. In Gaeilge we have been learning lots about An Aimsir. Every morning we now not only say the day as Gaeilge, we also say the weather as Gaeilge. Have a look at the video of us singing a lovely song from Bua na Cainte!
Additionally, they learned about the Chinese New Year, making colourful lanterns and snakes while also trying their hand at Chinese writing.
It’s been a fantastic start to the new year filled with learning and creativity!
