6th Class 2022 have completed the Butterfly Mural on the front wall of our school.
This is a project they started in February and with the guidance and support of local artist in residence, Carol Healy, they completed the mural on the week after the Easter holidays.
The girls worked in small groups and spent several weeks planning their butterfly design deciding upon patterns and colours. These were important decisions to make as they mural will be there for a long, long time. Each butterfly is completely unique in design and one of the great things about the project was that it was completely child-centred. The girls made all the important decisions of what was to be painted onto the wall.
