5th class St. Michael’s Church Project

13th Mar 2025

Ms. Healy’s rang a cúig have been very busy over the past few weeks researching and creating their projects on St. Michael’s Church, Blackrock.

In February we began looking at and researching the history of our local parish church. The girls read about St. Michael’s Church and were surprised to learn that the church had burnt down and had to be rebuilt again. Many never knew this!

Following on from our History and English lessons the girls were given the task of creating a project about St. Michael’s Church. They could create the project in whichever way they chose and were given a rubric to follow to help them in creating their projects.

Some of the girls created models and drawings of the church while others made PowerPoints. Many of the girls produced written or typed reports while others made posters and booklets.

The time and effort put in by each pupil was evident as the projects produced were of a very high standard.

The girls should be very proud of themselves and we even got a special visit from Fr. Michael who thought the projects were fantastic!

The girls really enjoyed this project work and it was great to link it to the local community and parish.
