4th Class Game Designers
4th Class Become Game Designers! 🎲🃏
Over the last few weeks, 4th class have been diving into the concept of fair tests and the rules of operations in maths. Through hands-on experiences, they explored different games, analyzing their rules and fairness. But the real magic happened when the girls became mathematicians and game designers themselves!
In line with the new Primary Maths Curriculum, which encourages problem-solving, reasoning, and creativity, the girls took on the challenge of designing their own board and card games. They carefully considered fairness, probability, and strategic thinking, ensuring that their games were balanced and enjoyable for all players.
From brainstorming ideas to crafting game pieces, designing boards, creating and adapting cards, and even thinking about forfeits and chance cards, the effort and creativity on display were incredible. The classroom was a hub of innovation, with games being painted, laminated, tested, and refined.
The results? A fantastic collection of unique, engaging, and well-thought-out games that were not only fun to play but also demonstrated a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. We were all blown away by the standard of work, and the girls had a brilliant time playing each other’s games.
This project allowed the girls to see maths in action—how rules, fairness, and logical thinking shape the games we love. It reinforced problem-solving skills and teamwork, all while making learning exciting and meaningful.
Well done, 4th class! We can’t wait to see what you create next! 👏🎉
