Beaumont Girls National School Parents Association
Beaumont Girls National School has a very active Parents Association (PA). Membership is open to all parents of children in the school from Junior Infants to Sixth Class The PA in a school works with the principal, staff and board of management to build effective co-operation and partnership between home and school.
The Beaumont Girls National School Parents Association uses the National Parents Association manual 'Working Effectively as a Parents Association- Achieving Best Practice' 2010 Edition. http://www.npc.ie/attachments/5b778212-7d2a-4f57-b566-6be705a7aef0.PDF
An AGM is held in September each year
The primary objective of the Parents Association is to provide a representative forum for parents to discuss matters of mutual concern and to initiate activities relating to the education, welfare and development of our children. The Parents Association also provides assistance when necessary during extra-curricular activities and school outings.
Throughout the school year, you will find that the Parents Association is involved in the organisation of a range of events example of which are as follows.
- Book Rental Scheme
- Playground Improvement Strategy
- Traffic Management Plan
- Grandparents Day
- Halloween Disco
- Movie Nights
- Christmas Raffle
- Easter Egg Hunt / Raffle
- Provision of refreshments for Sports Day
- Communion Reception
- Confirmation Reception
- Graduation Reception
- Used Uniform Shop
All events are to make your child’s school days more fun and assist in their educational development. The money generated from these events also helps to provide extra resources for the school. We strongly urge parents to join the Parents Association because only with your help can we continue to support the school in providing such a unique environment for our children.
As you are aware we run a number of events throughout the school year and we would welcome help from any parents who would like to get involved. This really is a great opportunity to be involved in your daughter(s) school on an ad hoc basis. Also your daughter(s) will no doubt be very proud and encouraged by your involvement.
